Fire Proof
Gesso plaster contains 20% water. When exposed to fire or intense heat, the plaster would release the water and reduce the speed and the expansion of the fire. The burnt surface would later function as an insulating layer that would thwart the increase of temperature in the inner layers.
Acoustic insulation
The unique structure of Gesso plaster facilitates noise absorption. Gesso plaster can absorb up to 1000 Hz, which is 5 times greater than the absorption capability of traditional cement plaster.
